The castle lift is opened - apart from short inspection times - during the whole year. The castle lift goes up the mountain to the fortress every 10 minutes - and takes just 1 minute to get there.
Good footwear is recommended for those looking to walk the 20 minutes up the steep path. The path leads up the "Festungsgasse" lane to the entrance, then on to the gateway arches of the courtyard.
